Five generations. One thread.

Every home we help furnish carries a little of a story that began almost a hundred years ago, with a bolt of cloth in Kota.

1927

The first thread

Shrinath Ji Nyati began trading cloth in Kota. It was a modest start, and it set the standard every generation since has kept: know your cloth, and know your customer.
The name the city knew

Gopal Ji Nyati widened the trade. Under the name "Shrinath Gopal", the family was the first to bring brands like Raymond to Kota, and among the first anywhere in Rajasthan.

Holding the line

Babu Narayan Ji Nyati carried the business forward. His son Sanjay Nyati joined him young, and learned the trade the only way it can truly be learned: on the shop floor, one customer at a time.
Two roads, one address

Sanjay’s younger brother, Rajneesh Nyati, took the longer way home: an MBA in Australia, then years with major companies in Thailand and Canada. In 2006 he came home to Kota with his wife, Arpana Nyati. One brother knew every customer. The other had seen how the world does business.

The turning point

Gopal Store

Together they made a bold call: to take everything the family knew about fabric into the home. In 2006 the first Gopal Store opened in New Cloth Market, bringing curtains, upholstery, wallpaper, carpets, mattresses and more under one roof. The idea was simple then, and it still is: turn houses into homes.
Today

The thread still runs

Three stores, and a name trusted across Kota. Now the fifth generation has taken its place: Shivi Nyati leads Gopal Store as head of operations, while Archit Nyati takes the family into new ventures like Go Play.
The cloth never left. Gopal Store still keeps a suiting and shirting store in New Cloth Market. The family’s legacy stores at Ghantaghar (S. Gopal) and Kothri (Sumangal) continue to be overseen by Shri Ashok Nyati and Shri Giriraj Nyati, respectively.
